However, the easiest way to get there is via air routes. The closest airport to little Carolina is Imperatriz (IMP), which is located in the municipality of Imperatriz, approximately 220 km from there.

Therefore, from Imperatriz to Carolina the trip must be via the land route, lasting around 3 hours via BR-010 and BR-230. This route can be traveled by private car and by chartered and public transport.

If you want to travel there by car or bus, you will need to take the BR-230, also known as the trans-Amazonian highway, at the end of your trip, followed by the BR-10. BR-222 is the direct route to São Luís, while BR-226 connects the city to Teresina, in Piauí.

However, it is important to take into account that these routes and travel durations are much more linked to trips with a private car than those made via public transport from a larger city close – or not – to Carolina.
